Needs Analysis and Competitor Profiling

Undertaking a new Care Home development is both expensive and time consuming, but with the correct research beforehand the chances of success are  much greater. Our services are bespoke, so they can be tailored to suit your own specific project or requirements. We can assess your local market from a competitor, Local Authority strategy, demand and quality of current provision perspective, as well as provide market forecasts on future demand. We can also identify competing planning applications which may be in the pipeline. Our reports can be targeted at any group within the Long Term Care sector, whether older people or adults with a range of mental health or physical needs.

The first question we ask, is the project feasible? To confirm this, we can undertake:

  • Full Project Appraisal on new developments or substantial extensions
  • Needs Analysis Reports
  • Demographic and Competitor Analysis
  • Demand Projections
  • Local Market Commentary
Assuming that the answer is yes, we can then provide your architect with evidence to assist in the planning process, demonstrating the 'Need' in the locale. We access information from various sources, to ensure that the advice we give you is as up to date as possible.

Care is 'needs' driven, not budget driven and the demographic pressures are undeniable, however, it is vital that you go into any project with your eyes open, so that you give yourself the greatest chance of success.

Company Restructuring

To ensure that you have the most tax efficient structure, we can review your current company set up and make recommendations where appropriate as to how this may be improved. We act with either your own tax advisers, or we have a panel of specialist tax advisers we can introduce you to if required. Where this has an impact upon your business loans, we can liaise with your existing lenders, or introduce you to alternative sources of funding who are active in the market at the time.

Quality Audit

From time to time, it is a useful exercise to review your position in your local market. We can carry out a full quality audit of your business, to determine the strength of your competition and where your business sits in relation to this competition. This can include a mystery buyer exercise, where we visit your business along with close competitors and make an independent assessment of what we see. We then meet with you and your senior staff to discuss our findings and agree a strategy to address any areas for improvement.
